 I took my '97 Volvo V90 to the shop for a state inspection, and the computer says that the vehicle is not ready for an inspection. He suggested that I drive it around for awhile and try it again later.

It is running great. The only unusual thing was my resetting the service button approximately six weeks ago.

Any suggestions????????????

Thanx!!!

i had the same problem. only i had replaced the battery... meaning no power to ecu.
so your solution is drive 250 miles without unclamping the battery or reseting the obd.

your vehicle has to have OBDII readiness in order for them to be able to pass for inspection. there are certain parameters that need to be cleared before all monitors are set. did you disconnect the battery recently or pulled the ECU?

readiness does not take 250 miles to reset. about 30-50 is normal. anything more than that means it's stuck. just pull the negative battery lead for a few minutes and put it back on, should be good to go.

 In frustration, I called the Volvo dealership since my car still was not ready for inspection and informed them of my problem. Their response was that they could reset the not ready alert for a fifty dollar fee as well as the inspection fee. Or I could drive my V90 for 100 miles, and it should reset itself. I have 28 milles to go :o.
