Leaving toms house yesterday I came to a red-light next to a lowered rx8. He looked over and kinda chuckled at my car. Well on green we went, both spun tire, but when I got traction he stayed a good
Distance behind me. Always wanted to go up against one but never had the chance. This was in my V70R btw.

WTF
13.4mpg? No douchey driving, mostly highway, stock-ish? Why the hell do they keep using them? Just as a marketing tactic? Seems like it would hurt the company more than the uniqueness would help.

RX-8 is "rated" for 16/22, so that's a bit off from what he should be getting. Also keep in mind that because of the differences between rotary and piston engines, a 1.3L rotary is roughly equivalent to a 2.6L piston engine. The older rotary engines got horrible gas mileage because of the way they dealt with the crappy HC emissions. I'm not sure about the new ones though, there is probably a similar issue still.

Rx8's are like Honda S2000's easy to beat in a straight line

BUT think it over several times before you mess with one on a Track or in the Canyons.

Funny thing is most drivers still think they are fast Posted Image and don't learn the car well enough to justify how slow it's in a straight line
