If I understand correctly, the rear speakers are wired in-line with each other and that they're individually 8-ohm speakers but in-line makes them 4-ohm speakers. I see going through the "what works for you" pinned speaker thread, some people leave the rear door speakers and some people remove them. I'm thinking about putting in new speakers but I am not putting in an amp to power them, will leaving the rear door speakers in addition to new rear deck speakers cause the rear speakers to sound weak? Would I be better to remove the rear door speakers and just install rear deck speakers? I'm not putting in speakers so my neighborhood can hear me pulling into the alley, I want a nice sound inside the car and I feel as if having all 8 speakers will give me the best sound, but not if having both sets of rear speakers compromising the quality, then I will remove the door speakers.

Thanks,

Gabe

I think the rear door speakers are the easiest to change...I pulled mine and liked the sound without them, so I haven't run them in a couple years. I can't speak for the backseat, but it doesn't affect much for the driver.

Yeah, I know they're super easy to change, I just didn't know if I put new speakers in there that weren't 8 ohm if it would effect the sound quality at all. My car only came with six speakers but I put in the rear door ones and I barely could tell a difference. Maybe I'll just leave them out for now. I feel like the passengers in the back seat probably wouldn't be able to tell a difference either considering the rear deck speakers are one inch away from their ear.
