I would run a 901 in my 850R if they werent all gray... and i am not gonna paint one black like someone else on here did haha

i had a 901 in my t5m and it was really nice for sure

I agree with this. A few years back @Aequitas_Veritas and I installed a full set of Alpine SPS-610C speakers in my wagon, but ultimately I thought it sounded better with the stock speakers, and the addition of a HU-901 + C70 amplifier. We eventually removed the Alpines and went back to stock, and I've been happy with it since. Could use a little more bass before distortion occurs, but otherwise no complaints.

I love the sound of my 901 and 4x50 amp. I've been thinking about upgrading the speakers, but now I'm leaning towards just figuring out which ones are blown and replacing those with junkyard speakers. It's sure as hell cheaper! Lol

They're not too bad, but at higher volumes they're very distorted with more bass.

I had some Alpine Type S's in my old S70 (fronts only) and they were a decent upgrade.  But I've had a set of Rockford Fosgates sitting here waiting for my V70R for 3 or 4 years and I just can't bring myself to start messing with them.  That and the Dynaudio setup in my XC90 are two of my favorite factory systems.  The upgraded Harman/Kardon system in our new XC60 doesn't even sound as good to me as the older units, though I will say the B&O option in the new cars is fantastic but costs silly money. 

And, keeping us on topic...the yellow is about to get a full mechanical makeover.  FCP paid a good chunk of their rent off of me this week 🤣

Brand new Melett 18T CHRA with upgraded seals/bearings, an 11/0 blade billet compressor wheel, 9 blade turbine, and all VSR balanced for ~$350 shipped.

Lol jk, definitely interested in how you like it. 
It's been awhile since I ran an 18T but ive been wanting to rebuild the K24 and put some new internals in.

You’ll have a lot more options for upgraded/hybrid K24s. I wanted to stick with the 18T so it’s a nice direct replacement for the 18T I already have on the car. It’s my daily driver and I don’t wanna deal with the downtime/hassle of a K24 swap.

😅 What downtime / hassle? 

That was the reason I went with a K24 from an 18t, was because of how easy and straight forward of a swap it was.

I do get it though, its not an exact direct bolt on, need lines and water pipe.    I ended up going with an RN engine anyways in the end though so its come full circle lol. 



S70 is going into Daily status here in a few months, so itll be a fun daily driver for awhile lol.

I already have an RN car (00 chassis and 04 engine) but yeah the water pipes and downpipe are the 2 things I don’t wanna deal with (because AWD) in the car - I’m gonna be working on jack stands so that influenced my decision. 
 

I also wanna see what the 18T is like once we really turn it up. Maybe a bit of E85 for fun? Only time will tell

Nice, how much for a 3 color vinyl, 18" in length, about 3-4" wide.    Need some new FLVC vinyls.
