I recently parted with my 850 after serving me well for almost 3 years. The car had 171k miles and still ran fine. Managed to sell it to a guy, who "promised" to keep it running at least until it hits 200k miles.

So what I got in its place is a 1998 T5M. I bought it from a member in our community (thus the Volvospeed stickers). I have been driving it for about 3 weeks and I absolutely love it. Enough words, here are some pictures from when I took the car up in the mountains:

And here is me with the S70 and the 850 before I sold it:

Here is a short list of the mods:
- 17 Inch Pegasus "R" Rims
- TME lowering springs, Bilstein shocks with XC90 spring seats
- TME strut brace
- 302mm rotors with Akebono brake pads
- K&N Filter drop-in
- SNABB Short Shifter Kit and Bushings
- 5k HID's
- 5mm rear spacers
- "R" interior - door sills and gauges
- 15% window tint
- XC70 grill
- All maintenance records, including timing belt, PCV, oil pump, turbo drain seals, control arms, evap, heater core and many more. The best thing - it only has 105k miles.

I have just 2 questions at the moment:
- What is the correct tire pressure for these wheels, running 225/45/17? Currently it is 34psi, but I'm thinking of going to 36.
- How do you turn the Traction control off? I tried pressing the button - it blinks and then turns off again. Is there a secret combination?

It's already lowered. ABS module was replaced at 70k, so I doubt that's the problem. How do you turn off the TRACS in your cars usually?

That's actually in Colorado (Trail Ridge Rd). I moved here last month and I'm doing my masters here.

Is the TRACS engaging ever? If not, and your ABS light is off and working fine....you may have a non-tracs module in it. Possibility, can't say since it's not my car. I run them in my car at times and get the same result, and I've had a couple people ask for them.

Floor it, haul ass to 60 then slam on the brakes, you can figure out if the tracs is there and the abs question in a matter of seconds.

You bastards out there are lucky...I've been there a few times, the scenery is amazing.

Thanks Matty Moo, I'll give it a try. I believe the ABS is working (no warning lights) and I haven't sensed any lockups. So it's possible that my car simply has no traction control? If that's the case, I'm fine with it.

Hmm...if I dump the clutch when taking off the front wheels are chirping (I'm not abusing the car, so I didn't try any burnouts).
Slamming the brakes at 60 brought different and baffling results.

On absolutely leveled road the car stops dead straight. If there is any sideways incline on the road the car pulls hard in the opposite direction. I also tried going slow (20mph) and then slamming on the brakes - no lockup.

And like I said - no funky lights, so I think the module is okay.

I was looking at S60's and some V70's, but I had decided that anything I get I will put pegs on.

Really?

I'm surprised there was only one mention of the height. To me that looks like factory height, are they bilstein hd's? I know sometimes people have said they can add close to a 1/2" of height.

The car is definitely lowered, just not by much. I parked it to a regular S70 GLT the other day and mine was definitely lower.

So what's the word on tire pressures for the 225/45/17? Is 34psi okay?

Traction control mystery solved. When the ABS module was rebuilt/replaced by the dealership by the first owner (I am the third), they screwed up and put a module with no TRACS. No big deal though - traction control is for the feeble anyways :)

I have not really done anything to the car - I am just enjoying it for what it is. I have taken it to several Volvo meets and had a total blast driving down some mountain roads. I still rolls a lot in the corners. If I were to make any modifications, I would probably do the swaybars. But at the same time, I don't want to put too much money in the car, as I am already thinking of getting something RWD/AWD. Torque steer is an absolute oh yeah!...

Here is the most recent shot I took while I was driving yesterday:

The more of these S70s I see on here, the more I want one! I'm currently looking into a 850 T-5R in yellow....
