looking to go to the drag strip this week with my lightly modded t5r and see what she does. curious on what ya'll have found works best for getting out of the hole quickly. Brake boost? shift manually? sport mode?

since my car doesnt have an aux trans cooler i dont want to cook the fluid and damage the trans. i live in Phoenix, so track temps this friday will be about 95-100 degrees.

thanks

first, you need to turn off the traction control by pulling the e-brake really hard @ 80mph. search in previous threads about it. once you get past this limiter then you should be able to brake lunch really easily...

I just brake boost to about 1800 then roll into it, it will take a few passes to find out how fast you can go WOT.

Other than that I launch with the trans in L(first) so if it starts to slip you can pedal it to get traction again, if its in drive it will shift to second early.

Sport mode really wouldn't matter unless you let off the gas at any point. I would keep it in Sport, and leave it there. No reason to have the transmission rushing to upshift.

Something tells me things like brake boosting aren't going to be much of an issue here, since I bet you'll come back all pissed off that you spun on every lunch.

The key to a proper lunch is the lunchbox. Protect your car's lunch by using the lunch box. Oh, and the ebrake trick works, look it up. Kinda counter-intuitive, but read about it for sure.

lol...my ebrake doesn't work to good so dont think that will do any good, plus I like driving the car.
going to roll into it a few times and see what that nets me. Cars running good so I think I'll have some fun with this. Hope I don't cook the trans.

Its too bad its so hot, your times are going to pay for the temp.

If you watch the Automagic video in my sig and listen to my engine you can hear. I was powerbraking at 2k rpm then feather/WOT at take off.
