You really should have a plain, old, NORMAL classified section that also works like all the other forums

Why? The auction site is more uniform and efficient to navigate, all while providing an additional level of security for peer to peer transactions. There are plenty of other places to post for sale ads if you do not want those features.

There is no new topic option. Just an add new advert button.

Nobody uses it because they don't know it's there. They just click the link through the forum UI which takes them to the "auctions" page which isn't really an auction site. I don't understand why there are 2 separate classified sections and I don't think anyone else does either. It just makes for a fragmented hard to use experience.

Which gets the most clicks, the "auctions" link in the forum UI, the classifieds button at the top, or the for sale feed forum?

Its because JRL has AOL and the auctions site does not work well for him.

why not put a link to the actual classifieds under the classifieds heading on the board?

Sorry you don't feel like the site is worth 10 dollars. I do understand though. Anything you want to sell for free you can post it up.

Or you post (for free) to the Auctions site, and it gets automatically imported to the F/S feed in the forums here ;)

I also find the "auction" site / forum feed combo rather clunky and irritating. Much harder to browse than just a single unified normal classifieds forum. I was very disappointed the day the "auction" site was put on here in place of the good ol' perfectly functional don't-fix-what-isn't-broken classifieds forum. Such over-engineering for a problem that was already solved a long time ago... you'd think this was a BMW forum.

Oh, and I know someone is going to go "but it adds more protection!" and the truth is... it doesn't. It's not even set up correctly with paypal to provide seller protection.

I am old and just missionary offends me. :) Seriously though I am one of those that didnt even know the classifieds were up there. Can it be added below the Classifieds bar? I am sure most just assumed that it took you there.
