@D14, what is the status of your O2 sensor...not the wideband one, the front one on the car. I had one that was getting tired and even though I didn't get codes it was making my afr's a little wonky...New one helped a lot...

My experience messing with CAM timing is that it has a huge affect on vacuum, I find it difficult to dial it in just right because I want to change it by a whole degree at a time but I think the motor is sensitive enough to it that even with stock turbo cams, a little adjustment makes a big difference.

I smoke tested the Vac system and found a few small leaks then fixed them.Started up the car and its still the same. AFRs at 1500rpm are at 13-14? idle is 17.9-18

I also have problem with the idle is still high most of the time. Jumps up and holds 3500rpm if I give it a touch on the gas... hit it again and it starts to come down.

Im going to flash the TT with the 355 tune and see what then. OH and the oil light is on, might be a sensor. The engine has tons of oil pressure and when I open the oil cap, the oil flies out the top all over the valve cover. So I think its all good :D

OIl light is now gone. But now the TT ECU wont connect too my computer? WTF?

Not a PC guy - did you try rebooting the PC? I have found that if I shut down the car with TT running, then restart the car, TT is non-functional, so I always quit TT before killing the engine. Sometimes just unplugging/plugging the USB cable in the PC works. I have the same problem with Logworks, so maybe it's just PC thing, I don't know. I wish these apps ran on a PowerPC Mac.

Got it all workin now. Some problems....

1. The car wont boost past 5psi. Feels like fuel cut?
2. My idle is almost always stuck at 1500rpm, and when it does hit 900rpm the AFRs are at 17.5???
3. Im getting a flutter noise when i get off the boost. I have a DV valve so im not sure if thats the right sound, but it sounds like surge to me?

Can't really help with the lack of boost - have you tried with WG connected directly to Compressor?

Have you rechecked base throttle plate setting & link rod adj?

Post a pic of your fuel map.

Flutter noise is typically boost not dumping rapidly enough.

You ran calibration wizard after flashing? That tune is set for 710cc injectors....

I cant even get the car too idle long enough for the calibration to work with the file? It stalls after about 3 seconds. I have about 80miles on the car now. So Im gonna give it another shot in the morning and see fro what ever reason if I can change it.

Did you warm the engine first with whatever other tune you are using? You don't want to run the calibrator on a cold engine.

EDIT:

I need to know how you are importing the tune - I have patches applied for my specific setup that may not run on yours - you should not import whole tune but rather import only the maps & merge them with your base tune that you know runs the car properly. This is only good once you fix your base idle/AFR issue, of course.

The cars driving better for sure with the other tune but my HG is now at 12-14 rather than 16-18? AFRs are still very high at idle and very rich wot. I also noticed that one of my injectors is a bit wet. The 550s i have are the medium size and I had to buy extensions for the lenght.

Im also starting to wonder about the timing as its DOG down low. plus the issue with the AFRs at idle?

Sounds like you have some hardware issues to deal with.

Built motor, Nira i3+ EMS, GT35R, Tial 40mm Wastegate, Tial BOV, FMIC, 630cc injectors, 3" exhaust, Quaife diff, singlemass flywheel conversion, Spec stage III+..blah blah..

Im at a loss for words right now? Smoke tested it and everything. Even at 1300rpm the AFRs are good, just at 900rpm they are 17-18.
