850 Rear Deck Speaker Help?

I'm trying to swap out the rear deck speakers on my brothers 850 but 6x9s dont fit at all. ive heard of lots of people having issues with these deck speakers can anyone recommend the exact size that fits?

5x7 speakers fit in the rear deck.

I went the 8" route, I managed to fit a pair of Peerless SLS woofers with some minor modification. I don't know how different the 850 rear deck is, but I had to cut out the retaining plastic on the bottom of the speaker support, and cut a little notch in the rear deck sheetmetal for the speaker terminals.

6x9 fit you just need spacer ring. 20mm is enough. Then all you have to do is drill mounting holes. Other option is cut the rear deck with shears if you want them flush mounted. Either way its about an hour job all said and done. Keep in mind these are not 4ohm.
