Ashley, I have the exhaust tailpipes for you. Maybe the down pipe too. I wont be using either of those on my 64 after the mods are finished 8-)

Don't think that would work, as I believe the diameter for later FI exhaust is larger. I could be wrong, but I'm discovering there are hundreds of very small, subtle differences among the different years for these older cars.

< so jealous... That is a very nice looking P1800. Too bad it's not a manual....

This is extremely simple to do. All you need to do is find a working M41, etc.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind...but from what I can tell I dont need any parts...and it came with a case of oil filters! hahahaha

As for exhaust, no idea. I wont something that looks sexy, and sounds mean. Ideas?

First, congratulations on finding this. These are great cars and metallic gold looks particularly good on these.

While you may not need parts right away, you WILL want to make a decision about the fuel injection -- presuming it hasn't already been converted. If you decide to keep it, you should get familiar with it and start accumulating known-good spare parts, as many of the components are NLA. I've become quite familiar with the d-jet system and would be happy to help if you have questions.

While checking into exhausts, take a look at what VP Auto and Skandix have to offer off-the-shelf. I bought a 2.5" system for my 142 from Skandix that sounds just the right amount of aggressive without being obnoxious or difficult to live with.

Manual? I'm a girl, I can't drive stick. Besides, I think the automatic was a pretty rare find from what i can tell on these things, plus it is a new transmission from what i can see.

Yea, it's fuel injected, and no, I dont know too much about it. I'd love to hear more about it.

Just looked at Skandix real quick, the 2" sport exhaust looks killer, but it's not stainless (thanks chuck ;) ) The Ferrita stainless system they got looks good, but it's not in stock.

I would expect nothing less than politically incorrect and sexual remarks on VS :)

There was a great link to a troubleshooting manual for the d-jet, but it seems they've taken the site down. V-Classics still has a good overview of the system here: http://www.vclassics...archive/efi.htm. I have a pdf of the troubleshooting manual and can send that to you if you'd like.

Unless you're planning to drive the car in the winter, I don't see any reason why you'd need a full stainless exhaust. I can show you what the Skandix system looks like after two years on my 142.

I presume you've seen this car in person. I can't tell from the images whether or not the seam on the rocker panels is visible or not. They should be. If you don't see a seam, then someone has done work there, and you should be on the lookout for more evidence of body repair.

Yea I saw/drove her around. There is a seam from what I remember. I spent 2 hours poking and prodding with a screw driver looking for bondo and rust, she's clean B)

I also have a stack of 200 or so receipts from the guys restoration in 1988 which includes a new interior, rebuilt trans, new dash, and every last little nut, bolt, anchor. He seemed to have done a pretty legit job. It's basically been sitting in a garage since then.

If you have the time, this is what can be done with that ES engine bay:

This ES belongs to a local guy who has won some concourse events with the car.
It was pretty much a full frame off resto.
My advice is clean as you go, when parts come off, clean and/or paint them (and where they go) before they go back on.
It will begin cleaning things up pretty quickly. (until you do the full meal deal)
