Then I cut it in half to make it fit... haha

you can see where I cut and how i determined how much to take out in the middle, mount the sides where you want them then slip the center over itself and mark it.

the small section I cut out
I then took some small rod I had sitting around and cut it up into 2 and 1 foot increments.

I then slapped the rod in and tucked it behind some mounting tabs on the inside of the lip so it held in place.

added a bit of wire mesh that comes with Bondo

I then cut up some fiberglass cloth into various sizes

mixed up my fiberglass

and this is the best container to mix small amounts of resin... cut a can in half and mix in there, then you can throw it away when you are done and it didn't cost you anything.

I then laid down a sheet or two of fiberglass and then placed in the shorter piece of rod I had around and laid a couple more pieces over that.

My fancy dancy system to prop it up to make it easier to fiberglass.

Then a quick test fit.

and it was pretty close... so what did I do... snapped it in half and fiberglassed it with a bit more curve in the front to help match the curvature of the front bumper. I didn't take any pics of it but I did the same thing I previously had with the metal bars and resin and such.
I slapped on a tiny bit of bondo to fill the crack between the two pieces and primed it. It'll be ready for paint and then it'll go on the car tomorrow afternoon and more pictures will ensue.
Thanks for looking!
