Thanks Mark! For now, the euro '97 t5m computer is doing a damn good job with the setup. It feels like 310-315whp and at only 12-13psi this turbo hasn't even broken a sweat yet. I'll be using an ARD tune or go to the local Bosch tuner around here. Same guy who tuned Chris's 850R to 340hp and 380tq.

I'm actually not worried at all about the the mls gasket as I have never heard of one blowing. My biggest concern is cracking a cylinder wall which I have a sneaking suspicion that this turbo could do it...easily. it's all about a good tune though so we will see what happens!

What are you going with in terms of EMS? I just made a quick tune on Sunday with Joes TT and pushing ~19PSI (hit 20s with my shitty stage 1 with some fuel mods). I'm not really worried about the walls yet, and yours are thicker. Pulls nice though, I bet yours does too.

Nice work Ben!

Hope you don't have any boost spiking issues with the 38mm gate. What are you using to tune it?

Did you have issues with a 38mm? I just got a 38mm for my Holset set up thats going on my car pretty soon.

I have a 40mm but mine branches off the 5 bolt flange. The original sized holes in the turbine housing and the flange weren't adequate and caused boost spikes. Ben's placement looks good and should be alright but you never know until you try it.

Gotcha. I had to increase the opening on my 60trim as well to avoid spikes and be able to control boost, so did a buddy of mine with a GT30R.

So far, boost holds rock solid. Id like to put the greedy back in control so I can adjust boost with outside temps...it was cold this morning and I saw 13:1 on the wideband...no bueno. Everything is already wired up though, just have to plug 'er in and start tuning the controller...been a long time since I've used it, I'm a bit rusty

How do you monitor your wideband when it's so far from your peripheral vision when driving? You need to wire up an electronic device that zaps you if you're over certain MAP/AFR values.

Auto pilot...duh! But seriously it's not that bad. Quick glance down and you're all set...but it's especially easy if you ask your passenger to tell you if the afr hits 12:1 or w/e value you choose.

Very Cool to see this finally come together! I've forgotten half the trials & tribulations we spoke about as it came along - too many for me to recall, for sure.

Looking forward to seeing & hearing this animal!!!!

Sure thing buddy. I kept VVT hubs in case there is an upgrade down the road that allows me to utilize the VVT system. Would be very easy add to the harness and plug into the solenoids....as long as tuner knows what to do with them.

Distributor ignition for now...I have an msd 6a-l that's still sitting in my trunk. I'm not too worried about spark...not until I turn up the profec-b.

No logging yet...just keeping an eye on the wideband. I can turn the boost up or down depending on temperature to stay below 12:1 afr. Once I add meth I should be able to get another 2 or 3psi out of it....but a good dyno tune with some real (750cc instead of 350cc) injectors is what I really need.

Looking awesome! That tranny mount is gorgeous. How's the lag with the larger hot side?

My wagons heading back into storage. You know what that means, defeat for another year. Maybe I'll try again next summer?

I get a psi or 2 as soon as I'm on the gas but it doesn't start spooling until 3500, and it hits hard at 4000.
