The display screen hasn't worked since I've owned the car. Radio, CD player, and all work just fine with no issues, but nothing is on the screen. A tech at the dealer said the whole unit would have to be replaced, but I read that the bulb behind the screen could just be blown....any help would be awesome!

If the LCD is out thats not just a bulb. You can back track the connection to figure out if its the LCD or something upstream if you really wanted to. If its the LCD though, you are better off replacing the entire unit with a used one.

or buy an aftermarket head unit for cheaper that is about 10X better most likely. i mean hell you can get one with a 7 inch lcd and a dvd player satellite radio aux in preamp outs low pass and high pass filters for a little over half the price of a factory xc90 head unit.

No I mean if you try to go aftermarket. Aftermarket is fine but plan it out. For 250 you are back up and running. Then plan to drop money on an aftermarket system

$900 could get you a very decent aftermarket set up that you would enjoy alot more then your stock set up.

Or just drop 450 on a aftermarket radio plug it in and enjoy it.

ook after some research it looks like if you go after market you will be going single din unless you are comfortable modifying a single din adapter to fit a double din. although there are actually more options if you go single din anyway. the wiring harness will cost about 15 and dash adapter will cost about 30 you may loose steering wheel radio controls if you dont find a HU that is compatible.

The XC90 is a 2004, and as far as installation and all, I'll pass. I can let my buddy do it. he works for an installation shop
