Here in FL you could get a 850R v70R or even a decent C70 for that price.
Or you could use that money to mod your current

Im looking for a 242 as a project car, and posted a want ad for it... that tool called me.
There is a 242 on ebay thats only at $285 right now.... but its in Colorado..
I wanted to pick up a cheap beater for now so I can pull my motor in the 854 and start the build...

very few people use synthetics. I would avoid it and try to find a 81-85 Turbo coupe or late 70's GT. You could find one cheap and "invest" 5k making a really nice and rare classic.
