Well I traded my AE86 for the Datsun 620 I recently started a thread on. But that left my girlfriend without a set of wheels. So I literally JUST got back from picking up this 1994 855 Turbo w/ 209,xxx miles. Other then needing an alignment she runs and drives great. Needs a little tlc and some basic modding and she'll be a nice daily for her. My performance plans are ... 16T, cxracing fmic and pipes, turboxs bov, ARD orange, and light exhaust work. I already have everything but the intercooler itself and the tune. Likely some springs and whatnot eventually but I'm going to keep it simple. She still pulls really well btw. Anyways, here's the pics ...

That's my new house in the background of the 1st pic btw. Yay for finally having a garage ! LOL

Sorry for the newbie question, but what is an 855? It looks like a 850, but I have never seen a volvo badged 855.

855=wagon (5 doors)
854=sedan (4 doors)

Not numbers you would see on the car but they are numbers referred to by Volvo.

Thanks, so that means I have a 854. I was thinking there was more to it than that. Now I know.

Pics come up sometimes when I load the page and sometimes not :blink:
I do go through a lot of cars hahaha. I'm never happy with what I've got. But this one should hang around for awhile.
Right now I have 5 vehicles. S60, 855, 620, Escort, 240sx --- Looking to ditch the Escort and 240sx
I'll do the pics as attachments - You'll have to click to enlarge them

Can everyone see the attached pics?
After thinking about it for a bit I'll likely just do a custom "rip kit" with my bov attached and call that it. I'll either be keeping the stock 15g or bolting in a 16t so a full fmic at 14-15psi probably isn't worth the time and money for a cheap beater daily driver. Opinions from anyone whose gone from rip kit to full fmic kit on a 15g or 16t???

So, I'm trying to get some plans and parts together even though nothing will really be done until after I get back from my upcoming business trip (I get back right before Thanksgiving). So here is more or less a build plan in order ...

1) Stage Zero (duh)
2) Put some fresh rubber on the Amalthea's (yuck) off my S60 and throw them on - Prolly 205/40/17
3) Apex or IPD lowering springs
4) Battery relocation
5) Intake - Just a cone filter positioned where the battery now is (yeah yeah yeah I know a K&N drop in will do)
6) Exhaust - Probably just gut the cat and then go from there. Haven't check out the oem exhaust layout yet.
7) RIP kit + Turboxs BOV
8) ARD Orange plus a MBC for tweaking
9) Wheel spacers
10) Cosmetics - I'll let the girlfriend decide that since it's for her anyways

Opinions or suggestions (especially from the wagon crowd) ?
Also, does anyone have a pic of an 855 with amaltheas ? Def not the best looking wheels but they are alot better then the steelies on it currently. May or nay not refinish them depending on what the girlfriend wants.

I believe those are the rims? Do a google search, there's a couple that have been painted that don't look half bad on an 850 tbh

Not only does it run really well but the body is in great shape too. It might be higher miles but she sure doesnt seem like it. Not bad at all for $900 ;-)
That reminds me, I'll be needing to place an order with you guys (FCP) soon for some stage 0 goodies :-)

Got back from my business trip about 1:30am Thanksgiving morning. Took the rest of the day to crash and recover from the jet lag.
Today I went out and picked up some goodies for the 855. Then spent some time on stage zero + misc.
New spark plugs went in, replaced a shot vacuum line, added a bottle of Water Wetter. Picked up oil and a filter but it's a bit too chilly to worry about that today. Also bought and mounted a new roof rack (hope to get pics up this weekend). Have a new Sunpro boost gauge that'll be installed soon too. Got a set of round lights to be mounted either on the front of the roof rack or in front of the sunroof (can't decide). We're going to end up sticking with the steelies for now. A fresh coat of matte black and they'll be good to go.

Quick question tho: The car can't idle for crap when it's cold. Hoping fresh oil will help but common causes on the 850? I have a haynes manual but honestly haven't even started looking through it yet. Thanks!

Mine idles fine, though before I replaced all the vacuum hoses it did idle a bit rough whenever it was cold.
