Most places won't pass for any spacer, or they might just ignore it.

I've known this for a while now, but I've never had a problem.

This law is stupid. Is there an engineering basis for it, or is it some dumb measure to prevent cheap spacing (non-hub-centric, non bolt pattern specific) spacers? The German TUeV actually tests these per car platform and approves them on engineering merits and people are allowed to use them on unlimited speed roads. I like that we don't need to document our mods in this country, but when laws exist for dumb reasons, it is lame.

I don't know what the big deal is. This law is stupid, just put on stock wheels without spacers and get your inspection done. Then put them back on once you get back onto your driveway. Who's going to check if you have spacers when you're on the road?

Spacers are okay as long as they are under 1/4" ... sadly 10mm is just a smidg under 1/2" so i may even have to take off the fronts.

Which will be interesting because without the fronts the wheels will touch the struts... which would also fail...

Like I said, stock wheels if you have set. Or borrow a set from someone just for the inspection.
