Some 5 years ago there was a good discussion here with tutorial how to connect volvo radios to ipods http://volvospeed.co...reouts-writeup/ . It required mouser.com 6 ping din connector part 17HR806. Unfortunately mouser.com does not have it in their catalog anymore. Anybody has a workaround or other supplier for the 6 pin connector?
( I got this 97 850 for my 16y daughter and she can't drive without her iphone connected :-). I could buy a replacement radio for her but I don't want to install that new looking radios in that volvo. It would damage the whole look of the car.)

Actually, it has nothing to do with adding an iPod input.
That writeup is for using the HU's OUTPUT to add an amp.
Go back and read the whole thing again for details.
Your best bet is one of the adapters that allows you
to use the optional CD changer input for an outside source.
These have much better sound than a cassette adapter or FM unit.
Search USASpec, Blitzsafe and Grom for options.
