Do not blame that tard on me. I like Mitt. Perry is a tard and so is Cain. Anyone who cannot beat a sexual misconduct case from ten years ago has no business in politics.

Yes, he is. it seems you don't have to be very bright to be govenor. Both Perry and Palin have demonstrated that because neither of them can answer questions on the fly.

I follow these things out of boredom on the Economist's site

Pretty funny really, and makes me realize things down here aren't as bad as I thought after all.

Mitt has got to be loving this shit, watching everyone blow up around him.... but running mates?
The worse it gets, man, the worse it gets. I'll be happy when our supposedly top level conservatives can quit embarrassing themselves. I mean, really, are they all meatheads? Style over substance for America? Say it isn't so. A lot of those guys do have incredibly white teeth, though! :P

His handlers were probably dying behind the scenes during the debate.

Yes...but it was an alternate reality where I have hair, perfect teeth, and tye dye. (Not that there's anything wrong with it).

Let's see, Mitt might be happy but the media is itching for a primary beauty contest and they've selected Newt as the next man to consider for a comeback. Interesting to watch and see if Newt can take advantage of the momentum from being counted out to now gaining steam.

They want to see a real fight before the knock-out is declared...

No kidding.... recycling at its best. Newt does know some shit, though, but it still doesn't leave me with scads of confidence. If we were a pro football team, we wouldn't be making it to the playoffs would we? Oh that's right, the other team fumbles, too! :P

"Property is the fruit of labor...property is desirable...is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise. Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another; but let him labor diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built." - Abe Lincoln

Obama can debate. You may not like him, but he isn't stupid.
Mitt can debate. He ain't stupid either.
Cain is hit or miss. When cornered on economics he seems to fall back on his 9-9-9 plan which isn't going to work anyway. Foreign policy he draws a blank or has no idea what he is talking about. Other topics he seems to do well with.
Perry is clueless. He looks like the idealized version of an American president, but as soon as he opens his mouth you find out he isn't that bright.
Bachmann is a slightly brighter version of Palin. She can sometimes make sense, but three minutes later will put her foot in her mouth.
Ron Paul is a smart guy, but his ideas are too radical even for the Tea Party, and most Republicans know he would never win.

The rest are just bit players at this point.

I am not sure why the media are still following Palin. Her psuedo campaign was simply to money because she knew back in June she wasn't going to run. Now all that money is her's to do whatever she wants with.
She is the female version of Perry. I liken her to a doll from the 70s. You pull the string and she spouts out conservative talking points. Ask her a question and the answer usually has nothing to do with the question you asked.

Quote

Newts growing on me.
Newt is a smart man. His biggest drawback with conservatives is his past personal life. Being on your third wife after cheating on the first two doesn't sit well with them. Even this isn't that bad apparently since most seem to be ignoring Cain's past. Newt would be doing a lot better if he didn't start out his campaign as a book tour for his wife to sell more copies.

The Chargers do blow and I had fun seeing them get beat by the Packers this past Sunday at Qualcomm. :)

Surprisingly I got a job out here.

Welcome back to the political forum, whats your blood pressure at? :P

RP strikes me as the only candidate up there who actually believes in what he says and will stick by it even if it means losing votes. That and he would actually do something about the power lobbying groups have in the government, which is something every American decries but everything goes on as usual.

Greed is the American way. Politicians all say they want to reform lobbying during election time, but that all goes away when the lobbyist starts greasing their palms.
