In the '99 VR (237k miles), I've been experiencing rough morning starts and alternating 1172, 1175 codes after wife blew off the charge air tube at the ETM. (Then limped home) I've sinced re-installed tube, checked vacuum lines, replaced HO2 sensor, plugs, and MAF. It does have a yellow stickered Volvo ETM... are these familiar preliminary fail signs for it? I know I'm missing something, as I am still getting the occasional code, but why would those codes flux between rich and lean? I do have the check valve installed...Car seems to run fine at operating temperature. Thoughts?

Thanks for the response, Dan, I've been wanting to swap out with silicone hoses. It's probably time... Will keep on scuffling with the issue until I trip over it!

The charge air pipe was not seated securely on the ETM... I had folded it, and am basically my own worst mechanic!

I have a hard enough time getting mine to mount too, clamp it down blind...
