I think matte white would look sweet, but either option will get dirty fast.

They (VS) wax their cars? I thought the lastest craze was to wrap them in viynl so the paint is flat. At least thats what won the IPD show.

This ^^^^Not to mention matte black borders on overdone at this point.
Don't do matte/flat/satin black...it will look like shit. You don't want that...soooooo now that I've been sarcastic about the first part of my answer. Why do either colour? Mine is already satin black, Henry's is satin white, the other guy in Florida did satin red and now there is the guy in Cali with satin black too....why not go outside the box and do satin blue? Personally this looks pretty damn nice to me.

Or this...

The new wagon is going to be a matte gunmetal with matte black accents. Enough to stand out but it wont scream at ya.

Finding a generic paint you like and taking your time with a satin clear coat is cheap. As long as you understand proper prep work.
Also, a lot of people see track cars done in vinyl and get all excited not realizing that those vinyl jobs are only meant to look good from a distance.

A proper satin paint job isn't going to be cheap either. Mine was $3000 CDN and that was from a good friend. Another shop in Windsor wanted over 9 grand to convert my wagon to satin properly. I've seen a ton of "cheaper" satin paint jobs and they look like ass soup up close. Mine would easily stand up to an AZ summer without any troubles, but it is a total base/clear set up using BASF satin black with BASF flattened clear. Just make sure you spend the time and money properly to do it right dude.Mine will be done with paint. A good vinyl job just seems too pricey to me. Plus I worry about the harsh AZ sun.

But let's not let paint threadjack too much, haha.
The vinyl idea is great but has two sides. Price is going to greatly affect quality here. And homemade vinyl jobs aren't easy.

lol...yes indeed dude...the labour is always a bonus when you can do it yourself.I do my own paint work. The vast bulk of the cost is in the labor. Materials are very reasonable but the labor is a pain to do yourself.

A question from JRL???Do you polish/wax satin?
Yes. They make special waxes for satin and matte finishes, wrapped or painted.
