3m dinoc ftw..signs are not the same as a car, similar principles a WHOLE lot different procedure. expect your old effed up paint to come off with the stickers
Also we did a matte white over a red audi s4 avant and it looks great. 3m makes some great stuff. initially you will not notice a difference between the two products. give it a few weeks when one starts to peel like the white one in canada. talk about a horrible job. i can say that i know what it takes to put on wraps RIGHT. it takes alot of skill in knife work.

If I don't know something, how the hell would I find an answer without asking?
This is something I've never had and will probably never have, each to his own, but on certain cars an interesting way to go.
Actually I always wondered this for a long time, 30-40 years, when the old (50s-60s) street rods were primer finished.
I'm sure they didn't have anything back then including flat clear, it was wash only

Yeah ... I'm not going to spend ~$400+ just to find out what I just wasted a day on is "on the doo doo end of the spectrum" ...
If you work at McDonalds then it's still ~$200+ and an entire day wasted ...
And that money prolly means more to a minimum wage worker then it would to me ...

That same amount of time could be spent on paint or a motor swap with better results. I wouldn't waste that much time just to stand back and look at it saying "Well, I guess that didn't turn out like I expected ..." then undo what I just did.
If any of you are budget minded then learning to paint is your best bet. Materials are cheap and you can practice on damn near everything.
Hell, there's entire forum threads dedicated to people that have rattle canned entire cars. They come out good when the painter knows how to prep and took the time to do some practice work beforehand. Now, go look up the comparable threads on diy entire car vinyl jobs. If it came out nice then it was $$$.
