Posted in R but think this is a better place.

Time to move on after almost 10 years and 80000 miles...

tired of bent driver's side wiper arms, suspension clunks, etc. and have no time to wrench myself and too much to be done money wise if I pay someone else to do it.

96 855 Turbo, nautic blue, tan interior, just short of 131000 miles on the clock.

Needs:

1. Windshield - 3 stars stopped with epoxy, 4th is a crack on passenger side that hasn't run all the way to the edge.

2. Driver's side seat back cable won't engage, melting sheath didn't work.

3. Needs alignment and one tire upfront, back two still good for another 20K, other front one has only 4k miles on it. General exclaim UHP 205/55/16 and a set of Dunlop M2 on perfos with one season left for winter.

4. needs oil cooler lines replaced.

5. needs RF trans seal

6. rear brakes squeal but due to pads - wagner thermo quiet with plenty of pad life left.

7. emergency brake shoes need to be installed. Have Meyle ones new in box

8. Interior is fair to good, some cracks but no tears.

9. suspension clunks upfront, not sure if endlinks or shock needs to be tightened on one or both sides

10. chasing down misfires - coil is showing bad so needs that too.

11. needs lower motor/trans mount - saw this when replacing radiator.

12. PCV system probably needs doing, have everything to do it

13. Going to need a steering rack too - one original one - slow leaks, been adding fluid about every 3 months

mods:

1. Speedtuning 17psi chip

2. 302 front brakes with akebono pads - no squeals or warping, steel braided lines all around.

3. Pioneer DEH-P4200UB on stock speakers, all work

4. 3rd row seat

5. have 2nd row boosters from v70 but pulled out since my son is tall enough without them. also has center booster.

6. PIAA sports horns

7. upgraded abs block from s/v70 with soldered abs control unit

8. 850 jewel lamps with xpel protection - have old ones and projectors, bulbs for retrofit I never got around to doing.

9. Samco hoses - black

10. XC70 rails and crossbars

11. Euro drivers side heated mirror

I have an entire manilla folder of almost all work done to it since buying in february of 2002.

Recent work in the past year.
axle, one front hub, brand new OEM valeo? radiator installed yesterday with coolant flush, new bosch o2 sensor front, lemforder? control arms, 1.5 years on kingsbourne wires, odometer gear has been replaced, crank sensor done in past two weeks. Front right motor mount replaced. Much more stuff done - will go through folder tonight and update.

Only quick exterior pic I have up at the moment. Weather is crappy here now.

Have boatloads of spare stuff.

winter dunlop M2 set on perfos, 4 other perfos, 1996/97 M56H with 30-40K miles on it - everything for manual swap except clutch, flywheel, and a couple of switches, 3" metal cat and 3" used obx downpipe never installed, box of 3" ss bends for exhaust mods I never got to, R manifold with all gaskets, bolts and washers for complete installation, complete PCV kit install I didn't get time to do, coolant temp sensor, 2 columbas, and so much more.

What is it worth? I figured I would post here first if anyone is interested. Don't feel right about donating and not sure if they will take it on trade. Haven't had time to look at cars yet and don't like the trade in aspect. Questions and comments welcome and needed.

Craig

this would make a interesting addition to my driveway, nautic blue vert, nautoc blue xc90, nautic blue 855 LOL....

tough to put a price on it, as is no parts/mods should get you $2000-3000

until i saw a pic, i thought it would look like a turd. its actually pretty nice.

get a ecu and headlights from the JY and sell the speed tuning one and the projectors.

yank the third row, MVS guys will pay $150+ for this. also the boosters will fetch some decent $$

Sell all the extras you got, fuck it. you might say you done have time...its actually real easy, order boxes from USPS online, print labels from USPS and slap them on boxes and schedule a pick up. you can do this after work after hours.

List it on craigslist and see what you get. $2800 is a magic number, let them talk you down to $2000 :)

OR

long weekend coming up and knock all that shit out at once... its only a few hours worth of time...full day at most.

fcpeuro coupon code cyberweek gets you free ship @ $100 and 15% off

keep it, mod it maintain it. throw in a couple of bucks and she'll run for another 50k...

New car = new car payment
new to you car = new headaches or new uncertainties about the running condition of said "new to you car" you know this car, you should still love it LOL :P

Well I use the car for work, self employed - metro dc, md, va travel daily at the drop of a hat so I need something I can just put gas in, change the oil and filter, tires when it needs it and go. Unfortunately that means honda, toyota, something with warranty so that is what I am doing. My back doesn't allow me to crawl under the car too much anymore. I look at it as billable hours I can't bill when I am working on it. I have everything except the ecu to go back to stock so that is probably what I will do. Perhaps my back will hold up to demodding it.

Hate to see it go and was reluctant to do it until the 2nd radiator in 6 months went in yesterday. The honeymoon is over! Ready Rad from Advance auto parts suck! Learned my lesson on non oem parts.

Just thought someone here might be looking for a winter beater/dd or another car to mod and keep since I have most of the parts already to do it.

I have a busted 3rd row seat I will put in instead of the good one in the car now.

Headlights are the jewels, never got around to retrofitting the original headlights with projectors. Will update with more pics tomorrow.

Thanks!

Thinking about getting rid of some of those mods separately? Like, the tune, manual swap, and exhaust? I'm in somd, but parents live in moco. Lmk prices on them if you are.....I don't know how serious I am about buying, since gf will be angry if I buy more volvo junk.

:(
