When I bought my car the paint was perfect and not its looking scratched up as all hell. I know buffing compound is what should be used but has anyone had better luck with one brand or another. Also should I be using a number of products?

Depends on how deep the scratches are. But there is not one miracle product that will do it, you'll need to use multiple stages and lots of polishing to get that glass wet black finish you'll wish you had on the car.

That said, you need to learn to search. There is a lot of good info here on this forum, and it's a search button away.

Before you start with wet sanding, try some rubbing compound.
