the diff on my '93 M56L on my V70R is on its way out, and i'm going to need to replace the trans. I have a '04 S60 trans sitting here.

The '04 S60 manual cars never got a single mass flywheel as stock, and they only come with internal slave cylinders.

i am trying to mate a '97 R pressure plate with a custom disc (due to the larger splines on the newer trannies, same as the stock one in the R pressure plate kit).

this is the disc lined up against the slave cylinder (the slave is used, a new one will go in soon).

the fingers on the pressure plate are not yet compressed.

the question is - does this seem like a fitment issue to anyone? will the fingers line up on the correct location on the pressure plate one the assembly comes together?

I would be interested in this as well since I will be doing some swapping of M56Hs, M56LKs and a M66 with various clutch assemblies.

I don't have a standard single mass - mine is a KM SM replacement that uses the DM Clutch.

I don't see any reason why the SM PP & a resplined clutch disc (for the later trans) won't work. Don't forget that the fingers on the PP pull in when the clutch is assembled on the flywheel with the disc. External vs. Internal slave is not the variable of concern.
