I have a 99 C70 and notice that whenever I use the key to unlock the door instead of the fob, my alarm goes off. When I lock the car, I have tried all 3 ways and still the same result:
1. lock with inside button on door
2. lock with key
3. lock with keyfob

I have only 1 keyfob, so whenever I use a spare I have to quickly hop in and turn the ignition on to shut off the alarm. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks

Get another keyfob.... And stop unlocking your door with your key! Simple

Possibly the unlock switch in the door lock.
When you turn the key to "unlock" a second time,
does the other door unlock?

No the passenger door doesnt unlock and the interior lights do not go on neither. Does this mean I need a new door lock? cuz thats another $200 to volvo dealer for bad quality locks, already had to do the passenger side

Pretty common to get a used door lock actuator assembly and replace your broken one. or if your handy replace/clean the micro switch.

OR, stop using the key.

if you are able to open the door when the door pin is in the locked position, it needs the door lock actuator. mine crapped out on the passenger side.

How about unplugging the alarm horn all together...it's not like anyone pays attention to it anyway.

Like PD said, you may be able to fix it.
But swapping in a known good may be easier.
And I'd shop around for a better price on a new one.
A J/Y replacement will only last so long...
