I'm installing wheel bearings as well (fronts)... do I have to do an alignment after installing shocks and wheel bearings? I would assume so but I thought I'd ask...

Yeah, I would as my alignment is off after install. Just have not had the time to get it in...

Wheel bearings no, struts yes, since the angle which the strut bolts to the spindle is an alignment angle. And like as was said before, the front strut and spring are in one assembly and with the OEM springs requires that it be removed as a whole, springs compressed, strut swapped, reassembled, then spring released. Be very careful doing this yourself for the first time as screwing up can literally kill you.
