This. The only wheels that would be considered oem R wheels for the p1 body styles are "Titans" and "Volans". p2 Rs came with 17" or 18" "Pegasus" wheels.

Just for the sake of completeness, sacrifice left out the the Gen 1 S70R(Europe) / V70R.
Satellites with the "R" emblem.

Posted Image

all three are very similar, and the evolution goes from

Titans(850 T5-R) --> Satellites (V70R)* --> Pegasus (P2-R) *

*"R" emblem on wheels

Neither. 850 would be considered as Gen.1. Which both the V70R(1998-2003) and 850 fall under.

Gen 1 = 850, S70, V70, C70, XC70
P1 = S40 (2005+), C30, C70 (2006+), V50
P2 = S80, S60, V70 (2004+), XC70 (2004+), XC90

Correct. For arguments sake many people just consider it either a p1 or p2 platform.

I believe volans are 7" wide and tethys are 7.5" wide.

That's incorrect sacrifice, P1 is the newer S40, C30, C70, V50 also known as Ford C1 Platform for Small Family Car. The P1 Platform is actually younger than the P2 platform that originated from the first S80, the P1 platform were first introduced in 2005 and still is being used today for the Mazda 3, new Focus ST, and the upcoming XC30.

Volvo 850s and S70s never really had a clear platform name, which was introduced when Ford started classifying and amalgamating their chassis designs amongst their brands at the time.

Interesting. Something you learn everyday. P80, alone, don't stick platform with it or else you're referring it to the newer D3/P80 Ford Platform.

Yes this car was in storage since 2007 and being in Orange County,CA keeps this car in great shape. I just bought it last week for my wife and now I would love a black or white one for myself.

Here are some more pictures.

Yes when I take a sharp turn in the parking lot. I think these came with 205/45s but the tires are almost brand new so I'll change back to an original specs when it's time for some new tires. But I do like the way 225/45s look on this wagon. :)
