i was walking sometime this summer before my birthday and saw a volvo repair shop with a bunch of volvos and decided to check it out. I looked around the lot and saw two identical 1999 v70xc's in olive. ended up buying them both for 300 each.

the first one i took home was supposed to be parted out. and that happened and i ended up selling it minus a lot of parts. namely ETM, abs module, abs pump, the fenders, window motors, front tan seats, power passenger seat, not to mention the parts that i sold. ended up selling that car for its engine for 300 bucks. missed it but oh well.

the second car took a little longer to purchase. middle of november got that and parked it at my house. it was a little scary getting it home but thank god it was .5 of a mile and used back roads. it had some serious running issues but threw no codes. the symptoms could have meant spending as much as 500 dollars for a new ETM. Fortunately it was as simple as a $2 dollar set of o-rings.

the second car is this magnificent beauty. made my mom fall in love with the idea of having a wagon.

Posted Image
the interior was relatively clean leather wise. the only downside was that the floors of the car were filthy. : /

Posted Image
the car was missing it's crankshaft position sensor. so i swapped that from the first olive as they were both 99's and the same car. it worked!

Posted Image
the damage to the hood of the car. fortunately the damage was only cosmetic.

Posted Image
Posted Image
missing a few bits like the lights and corners

Posted Image
it was missing it's rear door lock but i replaced that from the other xc70.

Posted Image
what a nice arse.

took it home and this is what it sounded like.

after the o-rings it idled alot better and sounded smoother. everyone was amazed at the difference.

now to fixing the body

Posted Image
time to replace the support.

Posted Image
sitting next to the support

Posted Image
rest of the car is amazing

Posted Image
front light/fender support

Posted Image
some of the trash in the car

Posted Image
boggles my mind that people cant seem to keep their cars clean

Posted Image
most of the trash out of the car.

Posted Image
broken front support off the car and new support waiting to go in.

Posted Image
remnants of the old support big eff you to that.

stay tuned for post #2

Good resurrection.

You've got some learning to do if you think this is the location of the crank position sensor, though.... :arob:
