You need something such as these

http://www.ddmtuning...iminator-3-PAIR

Error code eliminaters, sharphid.com also sells them

Have to alter the link, but just go to MVS there is a thread exactly on this subject.

"I hate to bring up a old thread, but there is a nearly free way to eliminate the bulb out warning for the front headlights. I had to do this because I installed a heavy gauge wiring harness to drive my halogen bulbs (instead of the feeble stock wiring), because the relays on my harness trigger a bulb out warning. I did some research on the wiring diagram of the stock headlight system and found that if you take out the headlight relay, either a grey or green box under the fuse panel (the one by the driver side cowl piece) and flip it over you will notice a small pin labeled K. The K pin is a trigger for the bulb out warning light on the dash. If you block the pin, the bulb out warning light for the front headlights will not turn on (yet it will still work for the other lights of the car). I blocked this pin by putting a small piece of regular tape around the pin and carefully reinserting the relay back into its socket (so that the tape does peel off during reinsertion). This has cured my bulb out light for my front headlights. I understand that if one of my headlights goes out I will have no warning, but trust me i'll NOTICE when a headlight is out!"

That might be for 850's only, so take it with a grain of salt. But it's doable

Actually I remember reading somewhere that these work like crap with volvos, can somebody say yeah or no to this? I remember John from sharphid saying that you need a 55w kit though.

So, pretty much disregard my last post hahaha

Seems like I would have to get a new 55w HID kit and then a BOW3 harness, but I'm not looking forward to do that since I paid 200$ for my HID kit and not spending another for a new one.

Talk about rip off. Someone needs DDM, $45 a kit and comes with bulbs.

The thing is The first HID kit I bought for my car was about 70$ and the bulb burnt out pretty quick and it stopped working so I talked to couple people about a decent HID kit and they said that a good HID kit costs about 150-200$ so I found one on kbcarstuff.com and bought it and I'm very satisfied with it, I got their resistors but it didnt seem like they made a difference so I didnt know what to do anymore. I rather go with quality than cheap

Honestly if your paying $200 for a kit I'd email them saying that your warning lights on, for that kind of cash it should work with no issues

Don't put the code eliminators or resistors, those are just bandaids for the problem.

Do this:

http://www.xenonvalo...onfixvolvo.html

If you screw up or need to un-do it, replacement shunt resistors are cheap from the dealer, it's about $5.

Step 1: Remove kick panel cover (30 seconds)
Step 2: Find and pull out shunt (15 seconds)
Step 3: Drill hole in appropriate place (30 seconds)
Step 4: Put shunt back in (5 seconds)
Step 5: Replace kick panel cover (30 seconds)

1 minute 50 seconds total.

Adding resistors and potentially burning your wiring: Many hours replacing burnt wiring.

OP, decent HID kits are still 150-200 so you are in the ball park. Serge, resistors are fine when done right and will not cause any more heat than stock. Issue it most people instead of doing the math just slam in a stupid high ohm resistor which does fry wires. 2003, cant the dealer flash the ECU for HIDs? 2004 I know they could.

I really dont think so, I work at a Volvo dealership and I talked to a technician about it and he never mentioned it , he said there are some other ways to get rid off BOW but require a lot off effort n crap so..:/ unless the technician is not well informed.

Which is very likely. I know mechanics who could diagnose my car from a block away, but that doesn't make them proficient in mods.
