I did search, honest. The linked thread in read don't comment only shows Adams' basic FMIC setup (should have internal links to other variations in the first post) until you wade through closer to the end...

Anyway, I'm going to go with a deeper (31x12x3" vs 28x8x3.5"), but 1/2" narrower core, I have no clearance between bumper & AC cond with the 3.5" core & don't like them rubbing together. A small air gap is always preferable for heat dissipation, I'm sure.

I'll need to cut the valance as shown. I know someone on here did this, I'd like to see the pics again for reference before I hack it up. My intention will likely be to reinforce the fibre panel, or add a cross brace, I dunno.

Where do you plan on placing the extra reinforcement? over the new intercooler?

I haven't decided, that's why I wanted to see what the other VS'er did. Based on the height difference of 4", I will have just a small amount of the base of the fibre panel left, so I may reinforce what's left & add mount points for the new IC.

i cut away the entire metal brace.. and actualy had it bolted to the bottom of the plastic valance dodad thing... (with long pieces of metal across the other side of it).... and i also had some big zipties on the sides incase the bolts gave away from the plastic...never had any problems

and also i wouldn't worry about the "structural integrity" (i know people will rip me apart for saything this) of the lack of the cross brace thing...

Thanks, Justus, that's perfect. I'll be working something along those lines, to keep some rigidity to the hood latch support...

The 'old' one is too thick - with the new radiator, it has no clearance at all. I don't want it to become a heat sink for the AC... or wear through because it's rubbing against the condensor. Plus, I just want a larger IC. Mine is only rated for under 500HP - and I'm sure they are optimistic. I'd rather have one rated for 700hp, that can actually support 400+ with a safety margin. Want to do everything I can to lower intake temps in the upper rpm's. I still haven't got the GM temp sensor to properly scale in data logging, but having it read voltage only, voltage goes down as temp goes up, so what appeared to be a reduction in intake temps over an extended pull is likely a temp increase. I figure this should help with that. Plus, I just need shit to think about while I try & finish my Master's Thesis.

I'm going to use aluminum angle plate, or perhaps chop up a bumper bar to get the angle section.

I think you are underestimating how much you will need to cut from the headerpanel with this setup. Unless you plan on adding fiberglass to it again to re-enforce it.

Or are you planning to mount it lower than me?
