I have a 02 S60 AWD and when I'm backing out of parking spots its like the rear brakes are applying and brings me to a stop.
It has DSTC.
Has anybody seen or heard of what is causing this?

I had the same problem in my '02 S60 AWD. The car would bind up in reverse when turning out of parking spots. I replaced the angle gear with a low mileage unit and it now backs up freely even when turned full lock. The angle gear had a slight whine to it and had been seeping fluid for a few years, when I took it apart it showed slight discoloration/heat on the edges of ring and pinion gears.

Awesome sounds just like my car. Did it seem like the brake where applying?
