The PS pump on my 01 whines really bad, very odd as the fluid is perfect and the steering has no issues.

Anyway, what can be interchanged between vehicles? Are all 99-07 the same or is there a design change?

Also is the pulley able to be pulled as I'm looking at this unit on ebay:

I would wait until one comes through the shop but this thing just needs to Oh hush!

I'm 95% sure the 99+ pumps are all the same, compare p/n's in VIDA to be sure.

the whining could also come from the pulleys and the tensioner for the PS pump. My 850's power steering pump makes noise even after replacing it so I'm thinking its the tensioner or the pulleys at this point

Looks to be different from 05+. I don't have VIDA handy though. Just snooping around online at a few different parts places.

Thanks! I'm going to take the belt off just to make sure it's the PS pump. Ive never heard any other tensioner, idler or water pump sound like this but it's wouldn't be the first time I assumed something haha..

Update: I took the belt off, just to make sure the TB rollers weren't making any noise, which they were not although I found that the idler was not done at the last timing belt change, errrrr. Found the serp. tensioner bearing to be in poor condition.

So assuming it was the tensioner, I replaced that with a new one today and the noise is still there. I'm leaving for a road trip this weekend or the middle of next week so this kinda sucks the big one..
