Hey guys I just changed my calipers and rotors and you know that retaining wire thats on front of the caliper facing out, it keeps poppoing off. Do I need it or can the brakes function without it.

They didn't put it on there just to frustrate you. Bend it back into shape or source another from someone on VS or the JY.

Seriously, check the holes to make sure there's no debris and then give it a good push to make sure the brake retaining spring (that's what your wire is called) is properly seated.

They are vibration damper springs. If you run without them, they will be somewhat loud. (More Squeaks and Squeals) I'd keep trying to put them on...
