Best car Audi have made. Hope to get one some time as a toy, gearbox is too unsuitable for the traffic around here.

They really need a SC to get fast but it's a wonderful engine, one of the best sounding V8s.

ill take that porsche any day. as far as the rs4, i would love to drive one, but hate to own it. dont forget that yea audis are great when it comes to performance but the engineering that goes into those engines is somewhat counterproductive. i've read from plenty of different sources that those engines need a full rebuild at 70k.

from that being said, i'd also prefer this:

Nonsense. I'm sure here or there one has blown up but the vast majority is as reliable as anything else. Lots of people I know in the european RS forum are past 100k without any issues.
The only real issue they have is carbon build-up in the intake due to direct injection, but it's not too serious in most cases.

C6 RS6 I'll take one as a daily driver any day, but not "for fun".

4.2's are rock solid. There hasn't been any failure yet of the TT'd V10 on the UK forums either, and most of them are in the 700hp region. But the NA "lambo" engine doesn't have a very good rep (not disastrous either though)

That seems to be an issue with audi - VW. The VW/Audi 2.0T motor is BAD for Carbon build up. My pal has a stage 2 FSI 2.0T and I told him to get a BSH catch can, take off the head and clean everything, and then try WMI injection. His PCV is already finished at just over 70K miles and hes got rough idle, CEL ect. PCV is also a recall on those motors.

Even the 3.2L is bad.

Even Porsche has had carbon issues with their direct injection engines. Apparently it's quite the engineering challenge to keep the intake ports clean when you don't have any fuel flowing through them.
