I'm trying to order a bunch of parts for my car on FCP, and i was wondering if i'm lowering the car, do i still need the bump stops, and how important are the dust boots. Do I NEED New bolts/nuts for the struts where they bolt to the wheel hub?
Probably stupid questions, but i just want to make sure before I order stuff I don't need
thanks for any help!

I just did this job today. I got bilstein hd and ipd lowering all the way around. Also got new hardware for the front I would reccomend gettig new bolts and if you get everything you need for the front you can putit all in as one assembly. Not to mention not having to do it again when one of the old parts fail.

The dust boot protects the shaft of the strut from dirt/dust/water. If dirt and other crap were to get past the seals of the strut it could damage it. I would replace the boot if its damaged or worn out. Here's the kicker, the boot is held up by the bump stop on the front struts, so if that fails your boot will fall down. I had that happen to be and it did force me to replace the bump stop as a result. So my lesson here, is do everything and do it right from the beginning
