With the right timing a guy from the Dutch forum gained around 30bhp with a 19T (335 to 367).

Why only 1-4hp.The HP number is relative to your setup

Maciekb2002 said be noticed a big difference in how car pulled after the NA cams were installed. He had been using turbo cams with his built setup prior. 18T vs a 20G with NA cams, the 20G will get more out of them. I did everything at once. And as someone pointed out 30hp is the latest on a 19T over turbo cams. The botom line is NA cams work and they are cheap.

I thought it was agreed upon some time ago that the intake cam only needed to be swapped and not both?
Engine build is still up for sale PM me for details.

That was what Lucky did on Nick Choy's '98. I don't know if that rationale was across the board, or for his specific hardware setup

I discussed swopping just the intake with my tuner earlier and he suggested to do both cams.

Ill be there for my mapping in 2-3 weeks though so will post the results (19T).

Take a trip to a yard, grab some cams and do it.

Bottom line is bigger cams = more powah, how much like everyone says depends on your setup. If I put in NA cams I may pick up 20hp someone else may only see 5hp. There are way too many variables to have a solid number to rely on.

I already did...I've had them for a long while. And I didn't notice much. Maybe a little, but not enough to claim a specific power gain from the butt dyno.

But looking at the differences in lift/duration/lobe center compared to the turbo cams, 20+hp seems mighty optimistic. At best, they're a half-step toward a mild aftermarket street cam set. I don't think I got 20hp @ peak even with my T3/T04E @ 18-20psi...let alone putting them into a 15G car.

But that's just my opinion - only reason I didn't dyno the N/A cams was because it honestly seemed like a waste of time/money. I didn't think I was going to see a gain on the dyno.

I remember reading that the Peril lost 10hp on a dyno with the NA cams.

I went from using 1 NA cam to both and kind of wished I had stuck with the 1. (all euro GLT models were NA hence some confusion)

I didn't notice much improvement in top end but certainly lost something in the midrange.

That said I have no dyno data before/after.

Its all about how you have the car setup with timing ect. Quite a few guys over the years said they noticed a nice increase and others not so much. So that tells you something. And if I only got 15hp for a setup like mine with the NA cams over turbo cams, isnt that worth it? I mean they cost $60-70 vs say $200 for an IPD Coldair that doesnt really do much at all.
