Finally got a device that scans old photos and these pics are about 18 years old and even sucked in their day. :D

This is where it all began for me...

1969 Beetle coverted to look pre-1966. Schiel Porsche seats, Porsche 356 wheels 15x4.5 with space saver spares in 125/85/15 and 15x6 with 195/50/15. Car was about a quarter inch off the ground at the front beam and half inch off the rear exhaust flange. It may look a bit lame by today's standards, but 18 years ago it wasn't.

Anyone else have old first car pics? Gary?

Not to old here. Car was the same from 2000-2011 except for a couple of front lips and wheels, previous set of was a set of 17' Racing Harts. Screw small wheels.

Just parted a couple of months ago, worth more as parts than as a whole car. :(

Hot! The OG Cinema 12 cruiser now in digital format! I remember that rig. That thing was so clean. We need to see if we can get the Jag up to 88 mph, and go back and put HIDs in the Beetle -- Oh wait, those weren't invented yet!

I have to see if I can find the few pics I have of my show ready Golf II from '91

Mine isnt as well/fully done...and I only have but 1 picture. Here goes anyway.

It was purchased as a bone stock/non functional truck in 1994 for $700. After 2 years of restoring it on a 14 year olds budget ($3500 a year working a grass seed farm) I got my license in 1996 and was driving this.
Posted Image

1967 Chevy Stepside pickup. Built small block with dual exhaust and 4 on the floor, shaved emblems and side markers. Interior was all reupulstered..nothing fancy just new and cloth.

I was retarded and sold that for $3500 to buy a 2wd 1986 S-10 blazer that was bone stock. Spent a little more time and a lot more money, and in 1997 I was driving...

Posted Image

Everything was shaved, exhaust out the back was frenched into the roll pan. Painted hugger orange with a blue pearl over it. Special ordered HUGE (at the time) 17" centerline wheel. Custom 2.5" flowmaster exhaust that made it sound like a small block. And about $10-12k into the stereo, running all the latest and greatest at the time thanks to friends in the business. 3 Rockford Power DVC 12's running off an old school Hi-Fonics Collosus amp at ~3k watts. MB Quart mids and highs and a Kenwood Excellon 911 deck. I did and do all my own audio work and this system, with some assistance from the techs at Rockford for my sub box specs was hitting 150dB.

Whats decieveing about the gap on that blazer is that the frame rails hang way down do it actually only sat a couple inches off the ground. Needed a body drop in a bad way.

In my day, we didn't need Hot Import Nights and there was only one show in town, Cinema 12. And we would scrape and scrape until our fuel tanks burst into flame. And we liked it!

What's funny about your 90s photos is that they look like my father could've taken them in the 80s.

I like this Blazer. Well, not so much today, but if I think back to the peak times of minitrucking and when Budnik wheels were new and all the rage, then it's awesome.

Thanks! In the day I was pretty proud of it. Wheels that weren't released to the public yet and a paint job/ stereo you hear or see for miles....then I moved to Portland for college and it was broken into and gutted in the UPS distribution center parking lot while I was working. :(

If I was to build it by todays standards...it would be on bags and 22's with a 4-6" body drop.

I was finally able to escape the absorbing car business in 2008, and while looking back, I've owned more than 40 cars in just over 20 years of being able to legally drive...scary. I used to change the whole car out more often than Jeremy changes wheels today. Here's a few photos of my '85 Gti taken in 1991. Neuspeed, Tokiko, Weds 15's, some custom interior and stereo mods, including stealthed sub box under custom folding rear deck, many amps, big subs -- gigantic overloaded stereo systems were the hot thing back in those days.
