Once again, crack head meets benz. 2 days in a row. I have cameras, have video, cops cant do anything. Finger prints yield no results (btw its not like csi). By the time cops come, finger prints arent in good shape. They cant get smudge free prints. Dog alerts me, but i cant do anything about it. They also dont at this point, even seem to wear gloves, and its -5 to -10 lol. Upgrading whole surveillance system to something i can get VERY GOOD images of the face.
Who wants to recommend a system? budget is around 2k for 1 camera and dvr. I can do a computer for recording, but would prefer stand alone system. Have power at camera point and can run wiring to location of dvr. Need 75 feet for facial during the night. I can also put ir illiminator if needed.

75 feet idk. Have you considered talking to a local security shop or calling a few vendors online and ask for recommendations?

Not necessary that one, but any 12g a pump (I have this one, as well as a few Remington 870's, a couple Benellis, and another Mossberg). Rack a shell into one, and perps will flee just from the sound. Plus, you don't wanna be shooting anything with a range like an AR if you live in a neighborhood.
On a more serious note, I've got a buddy who does home security installs. I'll see if he has any recommendations. I know for your budget you can get a pretty nice setup.

You can come in WAY under budget with these guys. I have 2 separate 8 channel systems from them and have had no problems other than a large power surge that took out 4 cameras when our shop was struck by lightning..I have ordered from them a few times, no problems at all.
