Hey,
So I replaced my auto tranny and got everything back together and went to start the car and the ignition turns on and everything but when I got to start it and makes this kinda loud clock and everything dims. I thought low battery. So I hooked up my jump back. Same thing.
Also noticed that everything worked fine, stareo, windows......any ideas about this?

Did you put the torque converter back on the correct way?

It doesn't just slide on the splines...you have to slide it on a certain way where it goes ALL the way down...it's hard to find the spot, took me about 10 minutes to find it. I can't remember the correct measurement, but it was about 1/2" below the mounting surface of the transmission. It's been about a year so I may be off on that number.

Really dead battery?

Matt has a point though, Incorrect TC install will lock you up for good!

Start with the easy simple things and go from there.

IF you just slid the TC onto the splines and called it good, then I'm going to guess that's the problem. You have to find that spot where it goes down all the way, and it isn't easy to find. If you hit it on the very first try out of dumb luck then you go got extremely lucky.

tc is a common problem your need to make sure it goes all the way in... Once your realize that you may be in business. Also ck for the proper
neural safety switch position this may be the problem. Let me know... Good luck

Well if it is the Tc I'll try and pull the motor again this weekend. I was just wondering how to tell if it is that so I don't pull it for nothing....
I went into this project blind, never done this. It all went back very well and everything looks right, just won't turn over but make a loud clunk type sound

I found a 93 5speed which I believe is m56L? I think
Anyways the yard thinks it may be bad (I could get a it for a song, but is it worth pulling and installing? Is there anyway to test these granny's? It's complete, and I pushed the clutch and and shifted through the gears. Went into all but, idk what else to do.
