So I just got my T04E 50 Trim .63 a/r in my hands today for my LPT build and im wondering about injector size. my plan is to run the 50 trim at 8-12 psi till it gets broken in and i get used to the power band. and later to 15-16psi by that time I will have greens. unfortanatly I dont have the $ rite now for green injectors, because the rest of the parts for the swap broke me lol. but they are in the picture for the near future. I currently have whites and I know whites are sufficent for an 18t at 16 psi. I know the 50trim flows way more than an 18t so at what psi do whites really become usless on a 50 trim. I have stock fuel pump and 4 bar FPR and whites. and at 8-12psi is ther a noticable gain in power over a 15g at 15psi. thanks

I ran ~14PSI on Whites (stock FPR) on the Carlisle Dyno 2011. Got a little lean (13.5ish) on the top end but I suspect that was my fuel pump dying (less than a month later).

What are you planning on using to tune? I see you have an ARD tune now.

so glad you went with the 50 trim after weeks of debating it or not. Keep us all informed as you install and get it running. I will be going that route also with my 2.5 LPT in july. Keep us posted.

Get a wideband if you don't already have one.

I'm running a similar turbo (if not the same one) on E85...Walbro 255, 510cc injectors (42# @ 4.0 bar) and AFR's are fine to 21psi.

You're running in the 13's with 21psi on a 50 trim? ....Man what does it freaking take to get these cars into the 12's??? I thought for sure a 50trim sized turbo full supporting mods and solid tune with ~1.5bar of boost would run a high 12....Now you got me wondering if it's even worth it to upgrade to the 50 trim and redo my whole setup. So sad I miss the days of my old DSM with a straight pipe exhaust and a walbro 255 and a pulled wastegate hose running a 12.80.

I don't brake boost, it was full weight, auto, and I run standard all-season 15's on a GLT wheelset. Now I have the rear seats removed, which helped (the seat backs are heavy; the bottoms don't weigh much at all). I'm sure that if I wanted to push the car hard off the line, it would be pretty darn close to a high 12 based on the trap speeds. I'm just scared to push the car hard...I almost never race from a standing start, and the few times I do, it's from idle like I'm running errands.

The powerband with this turbo is basically waiting for 3,600rpm to come around, which is really only an issue going from 1-2. So if someone didn't mind pushing the car (I am scared of axles, trans, and rods), and had grippy tires, leaving the line with boost would probably drop half a second off the ET.

I run from a roll and I'm beating cars that trap 108 pretty easily.

lol that brings me back to my days of the dsm lol. too bad you spent more time fixin the pieces of 5hit then acctualy driving them lol. my idle was so bad on mine i had to drive around with the high beams on to put stress on the ALT to lower the idle :arob: and keep it from valve taping  . but anyways im seeing alot of hurdles im gona have  to jump to do this on my car im gona keep the boost low for some time till i can tweak it and watch AFR. i do have a wide band thow sittin on my dresser waitin to do the turbo install prior so i can fab up some stuff. i didnt realize how much bigger this turbo was compared to the 15g till i opend it up and put them side by side :o lol.
