Strange Squeal And Boost Pressure Loss

Under heavy acceleration I get a short squeal coming from the front right side of the car. Also, the boost will drop off about 4 - 5 psi. I removed and inspected the entire cold side pipe and hoses. Re-assembled and still have this problem. I don't think it's belt related since it on happens at specific times.

How do I check the intercooler for a leak?

Or, do I just install my front mount and see if it solves the problem?

I really prefer to get a drop in intercooler and sell my front mount kit but timing may force me to use it.

Since there is always some oil residue in the stock system, you should see evidence of particle spray if the leak is from the IC or piping.

How old is the serpentine belt & the tensioner? - This would have nothing to do with boost pressure loss - but maybe you have two issues going on...

I would get one issue fixed before installing something else which could create another issue and you have to track down 2 different problems.

I am going to throw this out there just as a thought. Could the turbo bearings be worn and the impeller is making contact with the housing wall? The contact would slow the turbine speed down, make a squealing noise and drop boost pressure. Just a thought.

all belts and tensioners are good
turbo has less than 2k on it (Spanky built 18T)
boost fades even when niose isn't present at 10 psi

I had suspected my intercooler leaked on my 854. My radiator needed replacing and I get massive heatsoak in Fl summers so I decided to do the frontmount while doing the radiator. It's not a difficult job to do the fmic.
