Hey everyone, I installed some 6x9 speakers with an amp in the back of my car. They worked perfectly for a while...
Then I installed my AEM Wideband gauge, and the speakers are constantly buzzing.

I had to disconnect them because it was so annoying. The stock speakers in the doors are connected directly to my Alpine radio and dont make noise, neither does my Sub (then again, its a sub so it wouldnt make much high freq. noise)

The noise is basically a high frequency whine, like the alternator whine people get...

I have a second battery in my trunk, where the power cable is powering my 6x9's...I tried moving my RCA wires around in my trunk and getting different ones as well, nothing has worked. Im thinking of putting a switch to power off my Wideband, but this kinda defeats the purpose of having the gauge if it will always be off.

Any ideas?

So it goes away with the gauge off?
Where did you pick up power for the gauge?

What happens when you unplug the
RCA's at the HU end with the system on?

I haven't tried it with the gauge off, but I assume it would work again, since it wouldn't buzz when I didn't have the gauge...
I think I'm getting the power from the same place add my radio, could that be the problem? Sounds possible lol

As weird a question as this may seem, what brand of amplifier are you running?

First - Disconnect gauge power and see what ya get.
If that kills the noise, try getting power from somewhere else,
like the factory accessory connector under the leftside dash.
Big multipin connector with everything you need.

Where is this? I would love to know what I should be tapping into!

It's a crap Kenwood amp, it's just to get some mids and tweets from the back, I'll try changing the power source, just I wont be able to do it until it warms up. I took the amp out of my car lol
