What are you guys using? good systems and bad systems? any tips i should take into account?
Im already photocopying the stuff now b/c it fades away, and manually entering it into programs like excel.

Make your assistant do it. That or just open up outlook nanook edition and type in the cars by hand, and wait for sync. It will be faster than correcting the mistakes that OCR makes, and way more streamlined to haveing a pfd/image based roladex.

while this video seemed to be actually informative, it was fucking brutal to watch. My brain literally oozed out my ears wondering if at some point did this person have a disability. The pace to get out verbal information was that of a child.

a bit better explanation..

I have a Neat portable scanner. Works fine. Their software has pretty decent OCR, assuming your receipts are not smudged. If you plan on scanning a lot of receipts, get the upright versions. Doing many receipts / docs with a sheet feed scanner becomes annoying after a while.

so i purchased the s1500 scanner after some thought on both systems. It appears alot of people said the software with the neatreceipts wasnt refined enough yet. The scansnap supposedly works with alot of other pieces of software so i would have better options when it came to the ocr. Will review it once its up and running.
