What Would Cause This?

This is not volvo related, but we got a lexus es300 for free, but it has trans issues.

The reason Im asking it here is because Lexus forums Blow donkey balls and nobody ever responds unless its to show how small their penis is in their ISf.


I have narrowed it down to a bad Trans output speed sensor.. Im replacing it on sunday but before I put the new one in, I have a question about the old one...
What would cause the tip (shown in the pic) to get sheared off, worn off, or fall off?
It has clearance, nothing is in its path.....

I just dont want the same thing happening to the NEW $120 sensor...

Probably just fell out or something snagged it and bam there goes your sensor, Aren't the Es300 basically the same engine and drivetrain in some Toyota Camry models? I'd try some Toyota or Camry forums. Also with the ES depending on which engine you have, some are prone to sludge. Good luck with it mate, sorry I couldn't help more.

yup. they share the same engine as the V6 camry.
I wanted an EVO but ended up with EVO chassis only
