I got a chance to do some maintenance today and was underneath the car for a bit.
When I was under the car, I took a look at both the front and rear circular rubber engine mounts to check the condition. I had been planning on replacing these in the spring, however, after inspecting them both, it looks to me that they are in "good" condition based on visual appearance. No signs of cracking or over-compression/ballooning on either.
My question is, has anyone ever had to replace these mounts or have experience in the process? It seems as if the front subframe would need to be dropped in order to change them, I'm wondering if this is the case? Any thought's on whether it would be worth it or not to replace them? At around $80/ea., I wouldn't mind taking them off the list if it's not necessary.
Thanks,
-Brian

They do fail but not very often and mostly when you are in the really high miles and many years older then your vehicle. We are talking 250K+ on a 94 850 style failure haha
plus you can tell pretty easy when they do go bad.
Personally ive never had to do one or seen on needing attention.
