Finally painted my new turn signal mirrors and install them today and wow, it really does give the car a more modern look. Pardon my crappy spray paint job (first timer).

^^^ I don't mind that its not flush but it has a nice feature to let the cars on the side be able to see the turn signal as well.

Looks good. I have a set of these being painted currently. How simple was the install?

Did you mod you mirror caps for that signal lens or buy them as is?

Also were did you get those?

Also #2, are they LED and can you change the LEDS in them?

Either way, neato. Clean install.

I use my wagon for work so I added the fender signals thinking people would notice one out of three indicators. Seems not to be the case as they still attemp to ram me.

I think I needs this.

Eurosport used to carry them. At least that is where my set came from. I got them second hand BNIB.

I found a couple sets on ebay just now. Are 850 and s70/v70 mirror covers the same-O?

These are the ebay ones. They were shipped with white primer on them, ready to painted. Wiring it was pretty easy. All you have to do is remove the mirror glass, unscrew the plastic surround and this leaves the metal plate inside and the mirror cover (Which can be pinched and removed). One you have the mirror assembly apart, you can feed wires through the existing joint/pass through and it will be obvious on how to get the wiring into the door panel. Once the wires are in the door panel, assemble the connector that is included (DO NOT snap in the black connectors prior to getting the wiring through!) and if you have the side markers installed, you can just tap the wires from there and run it from the fender to the door panel. The wire is very thin and its not really noticible in the door hinge area, so I leave it exposed.

The LEDs on the unit are generally not replaceable, they appear to be superflux LEDs. However, if you remove the hot glue that seals the plastic lens to the backing of the LED unit, i'm pretty positive you can go in there and replace the LEDs.

I don't think any of you can see it, but I did also run one other LED for ground/puddle lighting on the mirrors. I picked up some flat LEDs from oznium.com and had installed them right on the edge of the mirror facing down, so that when I get around to doing the external puddle lights, at least the wiring to the mirror is done. Thats gonna be a sweet mod!

nice! I was looking to get these in the past but all I saw was flat black & chrome. Obviously I don't want the chrome but I was unsure if the flat black was ready for paint or if it was actually flat black. Not a huge deal as I would have to prime them white then get 601 in a rattle can but either way they look good. Did you clear coat them? I think a solid buffing & some clear coat (or more if you have) will help them match better. They look good in all honesty but they dont have that "pop" like your hood

Looking, back I probably should've added more coats of the clearcoat...

If you're doing this side mirror mod, I would also recommend doing the puddle light mod as well (since the wiring can all be done at once):

http://volvospeed.co...__fromsearch__1

and use these LEDs:
http://www.oznium.co...rface-mount-led

I've gotten the LED attached and the wiring setup. All I have to do now is run the wires to the map light connector to finish off the job.
