Where can I get one? It's labeled 51, but doesn't appear on the parts list, so no # for it.

Looks to be a C70 convertible subframe brace. Its designed to help compensate for the lack of a roof and the body flex that results. Don't know if it'll fit on other cars.

Oh, well that would explain why it didn't come up in the parts list on my S70. Wonder if it'd fit.

Yes it's only on the vert. They also have the brace that connects the front and back of the subframe (#31). IPD calms that their skid plate will stiffen it up too in a Youtube video @ 5:20.

Scuttle shake reduction brace - Don't know if that's what Volvo calls it or not but "scuttle shake" is the vibration inherent in convertibles. If it's only on the vert then it's design is to dampen those high frequency vibrations.

Are the UR ones even compatible with the 'vert? The Viva site says coupe only on all of them.

Anyway, they're not exactly on my list because I'd like to go AWD eventually, although I bet the side ones at least might fit.

Maybe the 'vert has some factory reinforcement to compensate for the extra flexibility and that reinforcement might get in the way of the braces? The only logical reason i can think of for them not to fit in the 'vert

That? :glare:

31a appears to also be a 'vert only brace that would almost certainly fit other cars.

Although it does beg the question... would UR braces be better than the factory ones if they fit after removing the factory ones to install them?

My bad buddy, forgot that picture existed

That brace looks rather weak compared to the UR one. Removing it to allow the UR one would be nice.

It should fit, although i dont know how the extra space after the factory brace removal would be dealt with

The vert's also have slightly different stuff under the door sills, IIRC, more reinforcement there. Could be a fitting issue for the sides.

Pedro - what is your impression of the braces? What does it weigh and how does it affect ground clearance?
