Looking to paint my housings. From what I'm reading on past threads I understand everything except for how to remove the clips on the headlight housings. Do you simply pry them off? Thanks for any help.

You haven't stated what car you have. For the 850s and early x70 cars the metal clips just pop off with a screwdriver.

I am not sure about the later cars.

Dori has an 850 with a rather interesting lip.

Metal clips around the lense.

To remove the headlight its 3 bolts behind it. 1 is between the hood latch and headlight. I am sure someone can provide more detail.
You may also need to remove the corner lights. a screw driver will help in this adventure. Just pop the spring off and it should just fall out.

Been a while since I have done it on an 850 so I cannot really go into to much detail. :( Sorry dori.

btw... Is that a Georgia plate I saw in your lip write up?

1998, S70 T5.

Thanks for the prompt help. This was such an easy and cheap mod to do. Got mine done this afternoon. Here is a picture of of the first coat drying. I used outdoor acrylic paint. Black metallic in color. I plan to orange my turn markers next.
