I have the opertunity to get an engine with 80k on it for an amazing price. But here's the catch the engine has been sitting for 3 years, dry. I'm scared the insides have rusted by now and if I was to try and turn the engine by hand the rust on the piston rings could cause them to break or crack. I would obviously fill the engine with A very thin oil an let it sit for some time but I still have a fear of this. I need help, suggestions and an engine. Thanks guys.
Is An Engine That's Has Been Sitting For 3 Years Still Good?

i would avoid it, inless it's really cheap, even if it doesnt work well at least it would only be wasted time....
i was going to say if it was filled with oil, it should be good.

Same with the AWD... if you don't actually own one, or never have, or plan to do so, then shut your pie hole.

Bought one that sat for most likely 2. There was some ruse on some intake valve seats of cylinder 3. By hand, wasn't making good compression. As a good friend told me, gasoline is a helluva lubricant.
Also... before hand, I ran oil down through everything. Let it sit, then turned it a bunch by hand.
What motor, BTW??
