I just wrote a lengthy statement in the chat room and was kicked out???? I have a question about a problem with the heater hoses when I replaced the connector from the inside to the outside of the firewall. Is this the proper forum to discuss this.

Thanks

wbbaz

Yup this is the right forum.

You replaced the yellow plastic piece at the firewall? What seems to be the issue?

Heater is blowing luke warm air from left center grille, and cold air from right center grille. Did I cross the hoses at the fire wall or do you think I may have an air lock. Yes I did replace the yellow clips. There are no leaks. Yeah!!! Also the hoses have a color code one has a yellow dot, and the other has a red mark on the crimp fitting.

Thanks

I have to leave, so if you don't hear a reply or thanks, I'm away from the confuser. A friend of mine laid a free ticket on me for the Barrett-Jackson show today. These cars are sooo out of my league, but it's fun to watch people with too much money get off on buying cars that will never be driven.

Thanks for your help,

Does the compressor click on when you turn the heater on?

Prasamin,

I'll check out your question. Also: The right side of the cabin blows cold air while the left side blows slightly warm air. Is something else happening?

Thanks

To all helpful Volvoist's:

Here's the facts, Jack:

1) Before I replaced the heater core the heater didn't heat all that well

2) After replacing the core and coupler the left side heats a little, but the right side blows cold

3) The anti-freeze is topped off.

4) There are no leaks.

5) The AC system needs to be re-charged.

Latest development:

Start, and warm engine
Turn on heat to highest setting
Still blows F*^&^%king cold
And.....the AC light stays on as if AC were engaged.

There's a good chance your duct flaps are messed up.
They control temp mix and where the air is directed.

Do you have MCC or ECC?

With either system, start by pulling the core cover back off and see if the
heater core itself is actually getting hot. That will tell you which way to go.

It's fixed!!!! I removed the Climate Control unit, unhooked it and reattached it. A friend of mine who is a mechanic suggested that procedure to re-set the computer; I also noticed that the vent for mixing warm air with the outside air. So......one, or a combination of the two resolved the issue.

I'd like to thank all of you that took an interest in my dilemma; now I'm on to the cold start problem, again.

Thanks again.

Great site.

cool...bet you had some A/C codes stored...popping the climate control out and putting it back in might have reset them or the unit.
